OPPAGA is an ideal setting for gaining hands-on experience in policy analysis and working on a wide range of issues of interest to the Florida Legislature. OPPAGA provides an opportunity to work in a legislative policy research offices with a highly qualified, multidisciplinary staff that includes public administrators, social scientists, accountants, MBA graduates, and others.
Graduate assistants work side-by-side with our professional staff on research projects. Mentoring and professional development opportunities are part of the work experience.
Students enrolled in a research-oriented graduate level program are encouraged to apply.
Academic year part-time paid positions work for 25 hours per week on a schedule that is mutually acceptable to the student and the office. Applications for this position are typically accepted in August prior to the new academic year.
Summer graduate research assistants work full-time for about 13 weeks. Applications for this position are typically accepted in the spring.
