Applying for Professional Positions

Applications for legislative analysts are typically accepted on an ongoing basis. To apply, please submit:

1)   A Florida Legislature Employment Application

2)   An OPPAGA Supplemental Application
The supplemental application is also available in MS Word Format.

3)  One writing sample of two to five pages
The writing sample should be a recent (within the past 5 years) evaluation report, policy analysis, or other product involving the presentation of research or information, authored by the applicant. If this is not available and the applicant submits a report of more than 5 pages, he or she should designate an excerpt of no more than 5 pages to be used as the sample. If the document was co-authored, the applicant should briefly explain the extent to which the document reflects his or her work. If no suitable recent writing sample is available, the applicant should submit a two-page discussion identifying one policy issue faced by state governments, and the potential research questions and methods that would help inform policy-makers' efforts to craft an effective and efficient policy. The writing sample can be included with the application, or it can be submitted electronically to brown.byron@oppaga.fl.gov.

4)  Copies of transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions you have attended.
